That was me.
It started in a small midwest town, on the corner of Green Street and Lyme Street. This is where my love of pretty stationery and good design really started. The idea to use the name Green & Lyme came to me more than 8 years ago. The timing just wasn’t right back then but the idea stuck with me.
Green & Lyme felt like *me*. Years went by before I finally acted on it. I knew I have a passion for design but what was I going to create? . Finally one evening I dug out an old planner from 2006 and opened it to January. I had just driven all the way from Ohio to California. I didn’t know a single person here, I had less than $100 to my name, no job, and no financial support from anyone. It was go time! I was just about to turn 21 and even though my life was chaotic at best, new beginnings brought excitement and hope.
There is a story in my planner… class schedule, jobs, meeting new roommates. Bills and (sad) bank account balances written in the margins next to doodles. Fun times with new friends that I had long forgotten about…
Where did I get all that energy and drive?
All those feelings I once had rushed over me as I flipped through the pages. Everything is written in my planner and it all comes back to me as if I was looking through photos. I didn’t even realize my own words on a page could do this.
Then I do some more digging and find my planner from 2009. The year I met my husband. Our beginning is contained within the pages. Our entire life came to be in this year.
And then it hit me.
Planners are my thing. I buy several each year and always want to tweak the layouts or design to make them perfect. I use my planners every day and they tell my story.
And I want you to use your planner to tell your story too.
Now here it’s time for the fun part. I know what I want Green & Lyme to be about and for the first time, I feel like I have a business that is in total alignment with my passion. I’m so excited for what’s to come with Green & Lyme. I love the community we have created. I love seeing how you use your planners and I love the friendships that I've made through G&L.
This blog is a place for us to share product updates and show you what we've been working on. I want it to be an open forum, so please feel free to comment. I’d love to chat with you! <3
